We arrived at the designated meeting spot 10 minutes prior to the tour which was to start at 2:00 p.m. we waited until 2:30, our guide did not show! We have not heard from Viator about a refund!!

No one showed up for our tour. We waited, called the number without any success. This is not the first time I know of that tours are booked and paid for and the tour doesn’t take place.

We were waiting for 30 minutes and no one showed up. Rang all the relevant numbers and said the number was disconnected. What a waste of trip going to Mong kok. Pretty sure this company doesn’t exist anymore. Would be great if we can get a refund…

We had 3 days in Hong Kong and despite having some difficulty getting places and doing things because of the riots the food tour still went on. It was the best thing we did.
It was fantastic. Our guide William did not stop talking, he was simply wonderful. We tried every type of food that I wouldn’t have known to buy and went to places we never would have stopped in. We learnt about the history and the people’s culture from 400 years ago to modern times. You’re missing out if you don’t do this tour.

You will not find a more enthusiastic ambassador for her neighborhood than Yan is for Mongkok. I would describe the experience as a neighborhood tour with nine delicious food stops along the way. She knew every shop owner and explained the history and significance of their stores or products. And, most importantly, she has great taste in food. The goose to start and tea to finish were my highlights, but everything in between was excellent as well. We took a 2pm tour and then took the star ferry tour around the harbor as the sun went down. If you’re staying island side it is well worth the trip for the tour.
The neighborhood was quieter than normal because of the decline in tourism, which was great for us, but sad to see for the local businesses. Hong Kong is totally safe, much safer than most American cities, even with the protests. It’s a shame to miss out on an experience like this because of unsubstantiated fears.

We enjoyed our tour very much. Went to many places that we would not have ventured to on our own. A few of the foods weren’t to my taste, but we felt we had a very authentic experience.

William was a great tour guide who went above and beyond to show me a great time in Mongkok. He explained the history of the area and made sure I was comfortable. I was able to sample all sorts of delicious foods and meet some local neighbourhood characters. Highly recommended tour!
