摂津峡公園から5通りのウォーキングコースがあります。
要所要所に看板があるのと、公園に入る前に案内をしてくれるシルバーのおじさま方がいるのでそこでパンフレットももらえますよ。
中腹自然林コースを歩いてみましたが、もみじ谷の案内板が道の端にけもの道を示すようにあるので見落としがちです。
そしてもみじ谷まで行ってもスズメバチの為、もみじ谷から先に進めず、もみじ谷から少し戻ってスカイラインハイキングコースに行きました。
本当にきつい登り階段でこのコースは大変です。
山の頂点付近のキャンプ場から白滝まで行って渓谷コースで戻ろうと思いましたが、くだりもきつく危ない階段が。
それを乗り越えて白滝手前の中腹自然林コースに入るところで倒木落石の為立ち入り禁止。
脇道にけもの道を皆さんが作ってくださっているので白滝までなんとか行けました。
そして渓谷コースで帰りましたが、ここの方がもみじ谷よりももみじが結構植えられていて結論から言えば渓谷コースで白滝まで行って戻ってくるのが一番楽でハイキング気分も味わえて楽しめそうです。
ぐるっとまわって元の駐車場に戻ってくるまで大体2時間少しでした。
渓谷コースでは水辺に下りることもできて、浅瀬では子供たちが水着で水遊びしていましたよ。

Lovely park, river, waterfall, onsen, walk in the hills, nearby Italian restaurant, kids area, something for everyone.

Settsukyo is a beautiful valley along Akutagawa River. It is not suitable for swimming, but good for playing in water. In summer, many people escape the hotness and come here to enjoy a great nature. There are several hiking courses. What I recommend is the walk to Shirataki waterfall. There is also a hot spring (daily use costs ca. $14). Don’t drive a car to the park, especially weekends. It should be full.

夏に来ても涼しく、空気が新鮮でおいしく感じる。いつ来てもリラックスできるこの場所は、憩いの場所となっている。

We visited this beautiful park on a Monday afternoon late in November to see the Autumn leaves. From here, you can reach Settsu Gorge, a hot spring and then follow a not-too-challenging trail to a 15-meter waterfall called Shirataki.
Settsukyo first opened to the public in 1968, and some of the abandoned buildings along the path to the waterfall look like they haven’t been occupied since then. In three hours of wandering around the park, we saw a grand total of two other people (and this is supposed to be peak season!). We came expecting beautiful autumn leaves and we certainly got that, but I wasn’t expecting the post-apocalyptic vibe that I got from the dilapidated buildings and spooky trails. I liked it.
Finally, there is a lot of wrong information about this place on the Internet. To get there, take a train to JR Takatsuki and then bus number 52 to Tsukawaki stop (double check with the driver). From there, you’re a 5-10 minute walk to the entrance. If you choose to hike to the waterfall, follow the Japanese signs on the ground rather than online maps. Both Google and Yahoo maps are wrong (and have different wrong locations). The Japanese sign you need to look out for is this :白滝 (Shirataki).
No less than four websites had wrong directions for Settsukyo. I even wondered if there was some kind of secret agenda to keep people away. If you can get in and out and see the waterfall, then it’s worth it. Achievement unlocked!

どの季節に行っても自然を楽しむことができる公園です。僕はさくら咲く春が一番好きです。また暑い季節に行ってもすこし冷んやりと涼めます。
