ALL bbqs are not working. Why is this ?
Very unsatisfactory for our work Xmas get together!! Very strange that every bbq (about 6) all have a “not working” sign on them!!

Large, well maintained park right on the banks of the Swan River. Well maintained amenities, barbeques with lovely laws, trees and walking paths on the river. must visit place.

Friendly feel about this park. Dogs allowed on leash. Good for swimming and kayaking. Fantastic boardwalk walks.

Walked along the Swan River for 5km. Park looks like it’s well used. Family friendly. Love walks along the river. Seems too many places where the pathway is stopped by private residences

A friend & I had nearly 7 hours to fill in before boarding our connecting flight, so walked to T1 to Garvey Park - a bit over 2 kms each way. The cafe wasn't open (we were there on a Tuesday) but it was still a delightful place to visit, being right on the banks of the Swan River.

Lovely place to bring the kids and let them play in the playground, kick a ball on the open oval or to head down as a couple to take a walk along the clean riverside. There is a nice little cafe that does great coffee and very tasty food.

Very nice spot on the river. Green but not lush grass. Lots of spots to sit under shady trees. They have a kiosk / cafe but it wasn’t open while we were there as closed due to Xmas holidays. Do have public toilets. Lots of bins. Bbq facilitates available. Can take dogs on a lead. Kids playground but not huge. Water was not super clean so not sure if swimming is a real option. A Mr Whippy equivalent came by on a boat and stopped at the small jettyselling ice cream to kids / families. Lots of kyacking and canoeing people about but they bought their own (ie not available to hire). Good place for a bbq or picnic with friends but feel there is better spots available along riverside.

A great scenic spot by the swan river. The playground is very close to the river and we watched a kid nearly drown, luckily its mother pulled them out. The swim beach has a very sharp drop off that can carted small children unawares.

This is a great location for a great walk along the riverside seeing some of the bird wildlife and watching the wine cruise boats going up the river and also the local kayaking club. After your walk you can get a great coffee and food if you want it which is reasonably priced as long as you go on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday.

please check this place out , I have lived in Perth all my life and did not know about this place. Point Walter everyone knows, nice place but busy. Garvey Park is quite,tranquil and a great place to get away right on the river, there a coffee shop right there but the kiosk is not open on the weekends which i thought was weird why would't you be open on the most busiest days. Please check this park out I only gave it a 4 as to me nothing compares to Kings Park so couldn't rate as high as kings park. But still i'm going back next weekend

Would garvey park be good for a childs 1st birthday 1-7 year olds age group

Yes it would be a really nice spot for a little kids birthday party. Lots of shade and playground stuff, and take bathers too because there is a little beach on the river. If it's a day when the cafe is closed you could set up food on the deck: take a few chairs.
