The worst part of this country. You can't relax or walk around the beach without someone harassing, stalking, pocket watching, scamming, or trying to rob you. I recommend any other beach town in this country than this.

Never ever go there it’s a dangerous dump - extremely poor quality hotels with even less quality staff
The beaches are full of desperate locals who will do anything they can to take your money
Lots of wild dogs pooing in the sea a genuine health hazard to be avoided if you like your health and safety

I thought I would not experience what others had experienced. I figure go there in Sunday and get in the water for a couple of hours. It was worse than I thought. 1. I did not find this place safe there where young men in th street hustling drivers to pull into their parking lot. 2. It was unclean with trash, empty bottles, bags etc was on the water. 3. Uber drivers don’t want you to use Uber they want to negotiate and pay $2000 dop upfront. 4. Aggressive sales and offering drugs, massages, jewelry,and food. 5. Water was clear but algae was in spots and places. 5. Tables amd chairs require rental of $1500 or eat and drink in the equivalent amount. Read other reviews to deter you from visiting.

I was back in BC after 6 years and my Dominican friends and I are so appalled at how dirty, run down and dangerous BC is now. There is hardly a beach anymore, you can only go into the water with shoes because there are too many panes of glass in the water. Nowadays there is only sex tourism and other dubious businesses.
Many bars, restaurants and A&I hotels are closed and the rest is completely run down. It was always a place for us to drive from Sto. D. to the sea for a day. But in my opinion that is no longer possible. It was the last time I was there in my life. What a pity!

Very nice beach but scammers everywhere. I could write forever about my experience but i’ll keep it short. DR is a beautiful country but the people ruined it for me, ive travelled all over and i wont be going back here for that simple reason. Its exhausting really..$130usd for fish and fried chicken with 2 beers? Lol..go to Colombia instead.

We were in Punta Cana in March 2024 at the Occidental Punta Cana hotel.
The hotel has a magnificent location, possibly the best in Punta Cana, the beach is almost a postcard from the Caribbean.
The rooms are a little worn from use but spacious and comfortable, the pools are very good with enough sunbeds.
The staff are almost all very friendly.
Breakfast was a ten, lunch and dinner approved shaved ice and the theme restaurants are better not to come close. The drinks except for some bars that serve very low quality Barcelo rum.
In general the quality-price ratio was acceptable but I would not return.
Outside the complex in town, the treatment of tourists was terrible, trying to charge you 4 times more for everything and a feeling of insecurity in the end. The rum, coffee and other things we wanted to buy, we did it at the Gigante supermarket, it was worth paying for the taxi, the prices there were Very good and quality products. On the Family Buggies excursions it was terrible, they treat tourists like cattle trying to take your money all the time in an insulting way and the buggies were completely destroyed and dangerous to drive.
The excursion to Soana Island was good but nothing special, the treatment of tourists was almost insulting.
We were in the country 30 years ago, the roads were better, the services were better, the people who deal with tourists were much worse.
It is worth visiting for its beaches and hotels. But not to return every year

Boca Chica is a Caribbean beach option with crystal-clear waters near the Las Américas airport.
In my case, while waiting for my flight the next day, I spent the night in this town and enjoyed those warm and calm waters.
