The virtual tour is not particularly excellent. we were a little disappointed. the idea is also good but the service needs to be updated with new and better graphically defined videos.

The VR tour of medeival Bologna was great; very well done. Enjoyable (even for a 58-year-old like me, and I'm sure kids would appreciate it even more) and informative. Choose the longer version (25 minutes).
Note that the same experience is also available at the Museum of the History of Bologna (for a higher charge I believe as it includes entrance to the whole museum).
Note: At the latter location there are also experiences about the Roman era and 18th century (canals) in the city. I did these too (at extra charge) and would recommend them (the short versions) somewhat, in the aforementioned order.
Returning to this attraction -- the Time Machine museum -- it also has a show called "Dante's Inferno" which was sort of grisly but entertaining enough. (I'd choose the short version.)
Note: This museum is very small, centrally located near the main tower.

Many thanks for the compliments, our audience is truly transversal... from 9 to 99 years old... children have fun and adults can also appreciate the quality and historical reliability of our 3D reconstructions.
It is true that La Macchina del Tempo is holding a collaboration with the Museum of the History of Bologna until the end of the year with experiences specifically related to the city

Ci spiace per la sua esperienza che differisce radicalmente dalla maggioranza degli utenti; sicuramente non siamo un simulatore ma un'esperienza di realtà virtuale che ha il suo punto di forza della verosimiglianza storica e non punta alla risoluzione grafica da game fine a sè stessa, impossibile da ottenere con gli attuali visori VR.

Esperienza virtuale straordinaria che supera ogni aspettativa sia per le ambientazioni della vita quotidiana della Bologna medioevale, ricostruita sulla base di una seria ricerca storica, sia per l'immedesimazione coinvolgente per chi accede a questa realtà aumentata. In biglietteria Giuseppe accoglie ed indirizza con esaurienti informazioni sulle possibilità offerte dal museo di Palazzo Piepoli. Le operatrici Stefania ed Eugenia professionali e gentilissime accompagnano i visitatori in questa esperienza.

No, it’s not scary. It’s also not dangerous. I don’t know why an age limit, other than maybe they think young kids won’t handle the headsets & controllers with care?

We confirm that our tour can be easily taken while sitting on a comfy revolving chair. We have a specific room and there's no actual need to physically walk.
