The church is small but very beautiful.
It is possible, with the contribution of € 5 per person, to climb on the terraces and approach the dome.
The 360-degree view of Catania, is breathtaking.
I recommend you go absolutely.
I do not remember the opening time but closing time, which is at 12.30. It reopens at 3.30pm.
The visit has no time limit, we stayed thirty minutes. They are sufficient if you have little time.

Beautifully designed church with elaborately decorated floor. We stopped in because there was a service going on at the adjacent cathedral and glad that we did; otherwise, given all the other churches in Catania that we were planning on seeing, we might have missed it. That really has been our experience in our trip to this part of Sicily - to choose what we want to see and to plan the time to do so. We haven't taken any city tours - our planning is basically TripAdvisor reviews and guidebooks - but we have also been surprised on several occasions to just drop in to a place not in our plan and find it quite interesting. Fortunately, many of the cities we have been in - Scicli, Noto, and Syracuse - have been pedestrian friendly, so there have been opportunities to simply walk by something unplanned.

I liked the interiors of this beautiful baroque church much more than the Duomo: yellow marble altars with statues all by the same sculptor from the 1700s, crystal chandeliers and a two-tone mosaic floor with a beautiful weave. Paying a ticket of € 5 you climb the 170 steps to get to the dome (the climb is a bit claustrophobic and uncomfortable, so to evaluate well if you have problems walking, breathing or with narrow and dark spaces) and it is really worth it! The 360-degree view of Catania from the sea to Etna is spectacular, especially at sunset!

Located next to the Duomo is definitely a very interesting place to admire Catania from above and enjoy a beautiful sunset. Getting to the top you can breathe tranquility and it is the ideal place to end the visit of Catania before going to dinner

Church with attached convent just across the street from the cathedral that is worth a visit. It's free to enter but you pay if you want to go up onto the roof - we didn't but it is supposed to have excellent views. Designed by Vaccarini as is the duomo - it has an elongated octagonal shape with a large glass chandelier beneath the cupola. Also a venue for classical concerts which would be good if on when you visit.

Next to the cathedral this smaller church offers a spectacular walkway around the dome outside. Great views of piazza duomi and the bell tower of the cathedral. Only a few euros for a very sceenic experience of rooftop Catania.

An amazing cathedral to be seen inside and out, with being very photogenic Nd even an opportunity to see it in its glory lit up at night.. one of the places you must tick off in a visit to the area

It is highly recommended to go up and enjoy the beautiful view! Tip: When purchasing tickets, ask if you can use the elevator, which will save you a lot of steps!

Entry to the roof climb is 5 euros but there are a lot of steps. There are intermediate levels where you can pause to catch your breath if necessary. The last set is very narrow - very much one at a time.
The roof offer fabulous views over and into the city: quite fun trying to identify each of the church domes. Being so high the views over to Etna are very good.

You have to pay to go up the dome, otherwise the interior is nothing special. It is preferable to visit the Duomo directly

L'ingresso alla chiesa è gratuito. C'è poi un ticket per accedere al coro delle monache, alla terrazza e alla cupola

Negli orari di apertura è sempre possibile fare una visita guidata della chiesa e della cupola, gratuitamente inclusa nel costo del biglietto.
Per gli orari di apertura la chiesa è aperta tutti i giorni di mattina 9.30-12.30, gli orari pomeridiani cambiano a seconda della stagione, li trova sempre aggiornati sul sito internet o sulla pagina fb della chiesa
