Long story short, if you value your money and don't want to risk unreliable customer service, don't choose any of their services at all.

We purchased Trial Introductory Flights for 2 people ($188/pp), and both of them were rescheduled to 24/6/2023 due to the weather conditions on our original booking date. However, when we arrived at the airport, only one of us managed to fly, and the other one was told to wait until further availability.

Due to the long waiting time, we decided to leave and consider rescheduling or requesting a refund at a later date. Unfortunately, we weren't informed by ANY staff that once we left, it wouldn't be possible to get a refund or reschedule without paying an additional $150 fee due to some company policies. EVEN THOUGH THE STAFF SHOWED A SMILING FACE AND WELCOMED US TO RESCHEDULE FOR ANOTHER DATE, THEY DIDN'T MENTION ANY OF THESE INFORMATION.

This situation is quite hilarious, and we only became aware of this on 02/8/2023 when we called to request a refund. The customer service replied with something like, "If you were late for 45 mins and missed the flight, we won't be able to refund you, just like if you are late for a movie or if you are late to catch a plane, I hope this makes sense." This was the reason we called prior to our flights, and the staff assured us over the phone that they could accommodate us. By the time we arrived at the airport, there were already 2 people waiting, which was understandable. HOWEVER, WE WERE FORCED TO STAY AT THE AIRPORT WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE BEFORE WE CAN GET A FLIGHT, OTHERWSIE IT WILL BE CANCELLED. AND NO STAFF LET US KNOW THAT LEAVING WOULD RESULT IN BEING UNABLE TO RESCHEDULE WITHOUT AN EXTRA FEE.

By now, we still have not received the refund, and we had to argue with the customer service to get our money back. It is evident that the customer representative/owner is doing their best to avoid providing the refund. Nice work!

I have flown, over the years, with pretty much every single flight school Moorabbin airport has, except Royal Vic. And a lot of others, too. In the past I haven’t been financially able to pour it on and finish my training, so it has been very 'bit and piece'. But this year however I decided to go for it.

I have been with Learn To Fly for about two months now, and in that time I have had nothing but good experiences, and professional treatment. Their aircraft are brand new and modern, and even their older models are in really good shape, which is a far cry from some other flight schools around here. Their premises has great facilities, lots of briefing rooms, a really good main simulator, which is very well set up, and a library. Things are going well with this flight school, which is better than some. If my instructor has a cancellation, he calls me, and if I’m available, I can come straight down, which is great. When I want more lessons, they book them in, rather than make me wait for one lesson a week, like my last school did. They are willing to work with me, and go a bit further, which I really like.

If you like people with nice crisp uniforms and bars on their shoulders, then you will feel right at home at this school, but I don’t care about that. I just want the skills, the knowledge, and to pass my test and get my license, which has happened here at this school.

The only thing I don’t like, is that having attained my recreational pilots license here at learn to fly, they won’t rent me a plane until I get to PPL. Something about insurance. But, I kind of understand that.

I took my partner for her first lesson and then had mine the following week. There were issues every step of the way.
Booking over the phone was difficult as the staff member had no idea what she was doing. I paid over the phone and requested a receipt to be emailed. I received an invoice instead of a receipt ! I called and this wasn't rectified .
On the day of the lesson we went to the address on the "invoice" . The lesson was booked for 10am and we arrived 9.45 and no one was there. We waited until 10.05 and called the number to be told they had moved. A call would have been nice!
Upon finally arriving my partner went through the process and was then taken to the aircraft. I watched them get in and 10 minutes later they got out as they were in the wrong plane !!!wtf?
My partner enjoyed the lesson once they got in to the air.
The following week I went for my lesson and it was the second lesson of the day on their schedule. To start with they couldn't find my booking ( the same staff member ). Then it was running 30 minutes late. I finally got into the plane and the engine was started. The instructor then informs me he left his headset in the office and would be back and not to touch anything! wtf2. I am now sitting in an aircraft with the engine running and I am at the controls ! Surely besides being completely unsafe , it must be illegal. Image if the wrong person was in my place what could have happened.
We finally got underway and the flying time was good.
Upon completion I asked the office staff if my partner and I receive any proof of completing our intro lessons as I am aware the amount of hours you fly adds up and records are required. We were told that on top of almost $600 for our intro lessons that we would have to pay an additional $50 to receive a hand written certificate. I found this disgusting !
I advised them that I am planning on continuing to complete my commercial pilots licence course and they could careless!
There are much better better schools who don't rip you off and have much safer procedures so avoid these people at all costs!

However, we absolutely refute your claims relating to being left in an aircraft with the engine running. Safety is something we take extremely seriously here. Because of this, we conducted thorough investigations into whether this incident actually occurred following your flight. It simply did not happen, and it's a shame that you felt the need to make such a claim. We absolutely appreciate factual feedback and welcome opportunities to improve.
