This trip was my first time solo traveling, my first time to Korea, and this was the first food tour I experienced. Michael was amazing! With his intimate knowledge of Seoul he was able to provide such a unique experience. I had the best food out of my entire trip while on his tour. The food selection is decided by you. Michael will provide an array of suggestions and will help you decide if you are unsure, or if you know exactly what you want then he knows the best place for it. Michael takes his guests to places that they would not otherwise be able to go on their own, aka places that only operate in Korean. The places we went were truly authentic!
Beyond the amazing food, Michael provides friendly company. Since he’s lived in Korea for over a decade, he is well equipped with suggestions if asked for them. He is such a positive and fun-loving person! He has insights that only a local can provide, and for me that was extremely valuable.
He truly cares about his guests and he makes sure you know how to get to the place you agree to meet and he will put you on a bus or train to get back to your accommodations at the end of the night. For someone who comes from a city with very limited public transport (so I’m not super familiar with taking busses), having Michael accompany me to my specific bus and tell me the specific stop to get off at was so helpful.
Overall, this food tour was one of the best highlights of my trip. I could not have asked for a better guide. For anyone who wants to experience the local culture and food, this is one of the best tours you can book!

Met Michael 5 years ago when I was traveling solo. Went back to Korea and I’m glad he is still doing the night tours! It was great catching up with him! Highly recommend his tour!

This trip was my first in Korean and my first being completely solo. I was super excited to try all the different foods (especially Korean bbq) but also a little nervous to go into many of the restaurants. The host Michael was especially awesome and super helpful. He knew a lot about the Gangnam area and the nightlife in general and arranged for a super fun night out. Michael was also super helpful in helping me find the meeting location and even helped me get on the right bus home. Overall a 10/10 experience, I highly recommend it!

My husband and I went on this tour on our first night in Seoul. We had such a nice time and it was great to be able to experience amazing hole in the wall restaurants and Michael ordered perfect amounts of a variety of local delicacies for us to try! We really enjoyed speaking with him and hearing what life is like in Seoul. I would definitely recommend this to others! Michael was also very helpful recommending other things to do while we were vsiting! Thanks Michael!

We had a terrific night on Michael’s food tour. It was our first time in Seoul and even before we arrived, Michael connected with us via WhatsApp and was super helpful in helping us navigating what to do and see.
When it came to the tour itself, Michael was extremely flexible and was able to accommodate my dietary requirements of no meat (I thought it would be impossible in Seoul, but Michael took us to a delicious fish place)- while still ensuring my wife got to sample some amazing Korean bbq. He also made sure that our glasses of beer and Soju were never empty!
It was great fun- eating and learning about life in Seoul. We asked Michael a ton of questions about living in the city, his personal journey and how he learnt the Korean language- he answered all of them with a smile of his face and was so very helpful and accommodating. At the end of the evening after two food stops and some additional drinks, Michael ensured that we got a taxi and were able to meet our friends. Overall a top notch evening with a highly warm and personable host- we would highly recommend this tour for some delicious food and a fun night in Seoul!

I am not one for organized tours, but as I was traveling to Seoul alone and only there for 36 hours, I wanted someone who knew the city who could show me the non-touristy Seoul. Michael was great and it felt like I was going out with a friend as opposed to a tour. There was great communication leading up to the tour and when we met up, he made sure to customize the experience to what I wanted and gave me multiple options of what we could do. As I'd already had BBQ, we started with chicken and beer, then went to a seafood restaurant and finally ended the night with Karaoke. In all places, there were only locals and as the menu in most places was all in Korean, even if I had found these places on my own, the experience would not have been the same without Michael. He's also a very skilled, experienced karaoke singer!! :) I would highly recommend this experience to anyone who wants to see what a night in Seoul is like for locals!

My friend and I met up with Michael and we immediately felt comfortable and happy to be shown around Korea with such a cool and knowledgeable person. Over the different courses we had a very interesting and deep conversation and we learned a lot from him. It was such a relief to not feel lost and confused trying to read the menu and order. The food easily became one of our favorite and most memorable part of our trip to Korea.

Can't say enough about Mike and his personalised tours. Ahead of an overseas familyholiday, I booked an evening with Mike for our Seoul stopover, hoping that some local knowledge would introduce kids to an authentic South Korean experience. He did not disappoint. Mike took us to a Korean BBQ followed by a Korean dessert restaurant. He was great fun and an entertaining storyteller. More than that, we really appreciated his personalised service - touching in via Messenger and email both before and after our night out and answering questions I had about visiting Seoul before we arrived. It was a pleasure meeting you Mike and we think you're on to a winner with these authentic food tours!

This was an absolutely brilliant tour and a great way to experience the real Seoul from the perspective of those that live there. Michael really is a fantastic guide. He is so personable, informative and fun that I would say this tour is a must for anyone visiting - even if just for one night!

I have so much fun on this tour that I had to do another night!! Michael is such knowledgeable and out going tour guide! I learned so much from him and was able to really explore South Korea and it’s culture! I would definitely recommend his tour to everyone!
