Shame it is fenced with no access

Don't bother visiting. The place is locked with no access. Facilities are weathering and in decline. No shady trees. What a disappointment

サンゴ礁のビーチ

ディリから車で40-50分でたどり着く、綺麗なサンゴ礁のビーチ。トイレなどの設備はあるものの水がなく、お店もほぼありません。景色はとても綺麗でシュノーケリングでカラフルなサンゴ礁の魚が見られます。

A strangely beautiful place

With a few hours to kill between activities in Dili, we headed out to One Dollar Beach for a look. The best part of an hour's drive (4wd recommended while there are road works) takes you through some great country with fantastic views back to Dili and along the coast. Arriving, we expected to see at least some people swimming at this lovely white beach. Nope, not one! Just a handful of locals sitting up on the odd-looking elevated picnic pavilions. The infrastructure here points to something bigger at some stage, but it was literally a case of the lights were on but nobody at home. One pool half filled with water and another one empty, as if all ready to go. Who knows why no tourists here? As everywhere around Dili on beaches there is rubbish lying on the beach here, which kind of spoils the beach (and probably the swimming) experience.

A pity, seems unused

This was the best place for a beach outing in Dili, according to my taste. However, every time I drive by, there is no one at the beach. Although there are amenities and it looks like a place in preparation, there still are no beachgoers on this beach, which is sad, because it would make a lovely beach destination in DIli. As it is, a few people stop byandunüack their meals and eat, either from their cars or on any of the 'uma luliks' look-alikes. A good roadside restaurant may be avery good deal.

Cut off because of Road Works

Don't even think about travelling to this beach as long as the roadworks between Dili and Baucau are underway. Except you are a big fan of dust that crawls everywhere on your journey; only to find out that the access to this beach is ploughed away by the roadworks.

Praia de areia branca

Só lá chega de Jeep. A estrada está em construção e portanto o acesso está terrível mas a praia é linda, a água morna e tem areia branca o que não é assim tão comum em Díli

My son loved it

Blue water and white sand, no tourists and the whole beach for you - that is Timor shortly summarised. Visited 1 dollar beach with locals on our way to Com, loved it. And its for free (wild beach), beautiful shells.

Save your money.

One dollar beach is about an hour's drive east of Dili. Whilst an acceptable beach, it is nothing special. Once a very popular destination with Indonesians - hence the dollar charge for entry - it is now free and a nice quiet beach for a swim.

Praia muito bonita

Praia bastante bonita, de areia fina branca, água quente. Boa para fazer snorkling, vendo corais e outra vida marinha perto da linha de costa.O acesso é razoável.

local rubbish tip

couldbe a great beach, good scenery, enjoyable seimming but you need to watch for the rubbish flaoting by or sitting on the sands. Its a shame such a beautiful place can not be looked after
