Cruise ship visit. Quick tender ride to this lovely clear beach. Unfortunately it was overcast and very windy. But people were still swimming .. we stood on the pier and watched the turtles in the beautiful teal coloured water.

The tender from the ship takes about 10 minutes and immediately you are aware of the crystal clear water as you walk from the dock. Its a couple of minute walk uphill to the tiny village where is a meeting place for shore excursions, some little stalls selling tourist stuff and some places to buy drinks. There are places to rent snorkeling and kayaks. There is a strict dress code we were warned about - no bikinis - even on the beach, and no swimwear in the shops. The people were laid back, no pushy vendors or anything. It was a nice stop for a few hours. It was fun just walking along the beach looking at the shells and coral.

Wow very special beach and local area. White sand beach with some small rocks so be careful walking slow is better. Water is divine warm no waves just floating f around in paradise

We had a lovely, relaxing time on this very pretty palm-fringed beach on Lifou, an island in New Caledonia in the South Pacific. It was quite a narrow beach and a little busy when we were there, but it didn’t in any way affect our enjoyment. The sea was crystal clear, and hugely inviting. It was hot, but we were able to cool down with ice cold New Caledonia beer bought from a nearby trader. This was all a lovely experience. We’ll always remember Lifou! Perfect!

We had half a day at this beach. The water was so clear it was amazing. We swam and snorkelled around coral outcrops and watched stunning brightly coloured small fish flitting about us. The water was warm and inviting, the sun shining, the day was perfect

An excellent cruise ship stop. Take the tender from the ship direct to the shore. Beautiful swimming spot - crystal clear, clean and safe water. Plenty of fish around and a few turtles. Have visited before and continue to love it!!

La Baie de Santal située dans le Nord Ouest de l'Ile de Lifou a comme village principal Easo , d'où l'on aperçoit les fonds marins et les coraux où s'ébattent des poissons de multiples couleurs ainsi que des tortues . Un ponton permet aux bateaux de croisières de déverser leur cargaison de touristes surtout australiens . Des stands de vente détériorent le cadre , mais l'on peut aller plus loin pour ne plus les voir . Cela se produit de façon periodique et alors c'est la foule qui gâche le site . Le reste du temps, le coin est paisible et on peut se baigner et se reposer sur une petite plage de sable blanc . De nombreux blocs de coraux ( patates) permettent d'observer les poissons avec masque et tuba . Les deux routes RP1 venant du Nord et RM4 de l'Ouest , donnentaccès au site .

Typicher Strand mit Palmensaum, wie es ihn überall auf der Welt gibt. Dahinter befindet sich Easo mit all den üblichen Müllproblemen.

This is a lovely beach, close to where the tenders dock. The dock appears to be new and local children were enjoying jumping in and playing about.
The water was warm and wonderfully clear, and the sand was soft.
We watched various boat trips leaving from the beach.
There are often turtles swimming near the dock, but we didn’t see any this time although we saw lots of fish in the water.
Swimming was great, and I can thoroughly recommend this beach.
There are little stalls with souvenirs and the usual hair braiding etc.
The water was warm and wonderfully clear, and the sand was soft.
We watched various boat trips leaving from the beach.

Swimming was great, and I can thoroughly recommend this beach.

Went ashore from recent P&O cruise. Very beautiful beach, crystal clear water. Saw numerous colourful fish and a turtle. Great place to relax while ashore.

Thanks for your review . Due to having to swim a bit to get to the right spot would you recommend flippers or beach shoes?
Do you think this is better than Jinkel bay ?

whats the best place to snorkel in Lifou, we will be there in july and want to see it all and swim with the turtles too
