Currently, the cathedral can only be viewed from the outside as it is being restored following the earthquake of 2022. The exterior looks interesting, as does the adjacent bell tower (also damaged by the earthquake).

This church -- the St. Paul Metropolitan Cathedral -- has been the center of the Ilocano people's faith since its foundation in the late 16th century. It has seen quite a number of unpleasant events (like earthquakes, fires and wars) and yet it stands firm on its ground and continues to offer spiritual refuge to those who need it. Be sure to drop by this famous landmark in the city when you visit Calle Crisologo, which is just a stone throw's away from it, and admire its architecture and appreciate its history.

ビガンの旧市街の北側にあります。白く塗られており目立ちます。元々は１６４１年に建てられたそうですが、地震で崩壊。現在の建物は１８００年頃に建てられたそうですが、様式は地震用バロックと呼ばれているもので、柱に支えがあり、天井は高さを抑えて作る形式です。
前提に多くの石像があるのも特徴的です。聖人なのでしょうが、ローマ時代の建築のようです。内部も白をベースにデザインされて、シンプルですが、なかなか良い感じです。

Many visit this place even on a non religious obligation day. I think even non Catholics visit this historic church just for the sake of interest and photo ops. Come Sunday , and it is just that busy with many local churchgoers coming . Architecture wise it is stunning. With much background and history it is also one of the UNESCO protected property in Vigan city. I have no further questions.

市の中心部にあるのでビガンを訪れた観光客の大半が訪れるのではないかと思います。

It's impressive enough outside, but there's reconstruction happening when we were there. I am not impressionable when it comes to churches.
