Very informative and well organized. We were lucky to have Gerry guide us, he is an alumni from Pitt. Gerry was also open to comments or complementary observations.

I was running late and the staff helped guide me to where I needed to be. It’s a big place, so allow extra time to get to the starting point. The 90 minute tour got us to most of the rooms we requested, and the docent was knowledgeable and able to answer our questions. The quality and variety the of Nationality Rooms was amazing. I was able to learn more about the cultures, Pittsburgh and Pitt U from this tour and highly recommend it.

As a Pitt alumni, I remember having classes in some of the Nationality rooms, but wanted to have my boyfriend experience the tour. It was a great experience and I learned some interesting details about the rooms. Hailey was a great tour guide. She made it fun and educational.

Our guide was very informative. Tried to get us into as many rooms as we could in the mini tour. Beautiful building and rooms. Would maybe suggest a 45 or 60 minute tour. One for 90 seemed too long for us.

The building is beautiful. The tour of the nationality rooms was very disappointing. The guide started by saying we will only be able to visit a fraction of the rooms on account of time. This was not shared on the website. She people to pick what rooms they wanted to see. How would we know?? There was over 20 people on the tour which made for slow progress. The guide was not very knowledgeable on the history of the few rooms we visited. Overall. Not a good experience.

We are locals but wanted our out of town friends to have an experience that was uniquely Pittsburgh. The tour guide did an excellent job. It was particularly impressive that she asked us which rooms we wanted to see and took us to those rooms so she obviously was prepared to present all of them. Our friends also enjoyed seeing the Cathedral of Learning and commented on how it looked like Hogwarts.

The tour showcases an amazing celebration of culture and art! Our guide was Grace and we were impressed with her knowledge, pacing, and professional demeanor. I highly recommend this tour for families and people interested in culture and art.

We visited during the Easter break but Lectures were still on. The guide did her best to show us as many rooms as she could and we returned to some rooms after the tour, once classes had finished. It was very interesting, and such a novel idea, to have rooms for different countries. Our guide was very knowledgeable and interesting. We have been to Pittsburgh a few times, but did not know about this place. I would definitely go again, as there is so much to see.

The tour was organized and very informative. The rooms are amazing . Shane (out tour guide ) was excellent, very professional, knew his stuff and was charming and funny . We will certainly be back

My wife and I took in the 30 minute tour of the Nationality rooms and the tour was very informative. In hindsight, a 90 minute tour would not have been too long as the time went by fast. Our tour guide provided great background to the rooms we were able to visit and only one actually had a class in it so we could not visit that room. She was very thorough and very interesting. The classrooms are so impressive. Our advice it take the 90 minute tour.

I highly recommend another hidden secret of Pittsburgh. For 30 years I have taken visitors to the Nationality rooms and no one was ever disappointed. I recommend contacting them about their policy on pets.

Yes, and use the entrance off of 5th Avenue to avoid steps. Elevators are available to use. I had a professor who used a wheelchair to teach and we used different class rooms in the building. There is public parking off Forbes Avenue but you have to cross Forbes which can be pretty busy. There is metering street parking near the Heinz Chapel side of the building, closer to 5th Avenue. There is a parking lot near Stephen Foster, next to Cathedral, call and see if you could use this lot.

It is free unless you want a Cassette to take around and listen to what each room has to offer. I think it was about $4.00.
