We booked a tour at Kahuku, and when we got there we first ate at the cafe. We got the pizza, a wrap, and two smoothies. Everything was fresh and delicious. Then we went on the farm tour and got to see Kahuku's banana fields, eggplant fields, papaya fields, as well as a variety of smaller fields, including one that included acai and lilikoi. We also got to taste the banana, papaya, and chocolate that is grown/made there. It all tasted amazing! Our tour guide was very informative and it was fun learning how farming on Oahu is different from farming on the mainland.

今回ご紹介するのは『Kahuku Farms』さんです。
ガーリックシュリンプで有名な『ロミーズ』さんのお向かいさんです。
その為車もすぐに移動が可能です。
今まで何回も通っていたのに、案内されるまで知りませんでした。
皆さんアサイボールのアサイはご存知ですか？
紫色の木の実がアサイの実です。
木自体はココナッツの木みたいですが、それよりも小ぶりな木です。
ココナッツの実がなるところから、細い枝が何本も出ていて、その細い枝に均等に実がなっています。
熟す前の色は緑色です。
Kahuku Farmsさんの何がすごいかといいますと・・・
アサイをハワイで栽培して食べることができるのはKahuku Farmsさんだけなんです。
これだけホノルルやいたるところでアサイボールを販売しているのに、栽培がこの一か所とは驚きです。
その為注文するしかありません。
『アサイボール』と『ケールのグリーンスムージー』を注文。
ガーリックシュリンプを食べた後にもかかわらず、意地を張ってしまいますｗ
『アサイボール』も色々食べてきましたが、ハワイの中で一番おいしかったです。
なんででしょう。アサイの実が凝縮されていて、砂糖を一切使用していないのにとても甘く、
これがハワイという気候でのびのびと育った環境のアサイだからでしょうか。
一口一口ふと食べているといつの間にか食べ終わってしまいます。
甘さもとても甘いのに、身体の悪い甘さではないので、のどが極端に乾くこともなく、健康な感じがしますｗ
『ケールのグリーンスムージー』
この商品も全て、自家栽培している野菜から収穫したものです。
ケールのサラダとか大好きですが、スムージーにしたら甘味倍増です。
店員さんに砂糖が入っているか確認してしまったほどです。
笑いながら入っていないですよといっていました。
それほど疑いたくなる美味さです。
見た目も綺麗で、味もいいし、空気もいい！！
悪いところが見つかりませんでした。
農園は広く、ゆっくりと気が流れていて、地元の大学生も写真を撮ったり、バレーをしたりと
ローカル感を満喫できました。

Absolutely loved the Kahuku farm tour! We got to sample fresh fruit including apple bananas, papaya, star fruit and dragon fruit. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and eager to answer all of our kids' questions. We had lunch at the cafe afterwards and had to sample as much as we could from their delicious menu. Highly recommended, and can't wait to come back!

Loved getting to see the farm and learned a ton! Got to taste some of the delicious produce and had an amazing lunch afterward at the cafe.

We came for the farm tour and stayed for lunch. Absolutely beautiful and informative tour with lots of tasty treats along the way. Lunch at the farm cafe was also top notch. Highly recommend!

What a wonderful experience! Our tour of Kahuku Farms was entertaining, informative, and a highlight of our trip to Hawaii. We had repeat customers on our tour, and I can see why.

We visited in June and were lucky enough to try mountain apples in their short season, apple bananas, papaya, and cacao fruit, cacao nibs, and chocolate made from their cocoa. It's so cool that the farm has stayed in the family and they do tell you about the challenges of farming in Hawaii (salty wind, mold, not enough rain). They have 5 acres in the front that's dedicated to experimental farming and is an open picnic area. They also have a cafe, smoothie, and coffee and tea areas that are made with the produce they grow, but cannot sell on to markets because they may be a bit imperfect. You then also get to see the rest of the farm that's set aside to sell to wholesalers. Had a wonderful experience learning about the farm and tasting what they produce!
Also, Romy's Shrimp and Prawns Hut is across the street, but you should definitely call your order in ahead of time if you don't want to wait 45 min.
