Wanted to see long horn sheep for years traveling to Vegas and surrounding areas. Finally found them here!! Check off bucket list for sure!

We wanted to go to this park for a long time. We were hoping that we would see some big horn sheep and we weren't disappointed. What a fun place to go with a beautiful view of Lake Mead !

We stopped at this park for a look at Lake Mead. It was beautiful. In the grassy area of the park were approximately 20 big horn sheep that came down from the mountains to eat the grass. It was great to get some good pictures of both the lake and the sheep.

The sheep were really cool to see seem very docile with the amount of people that kept trying to walk up to them. The park is clean and offers much for people to do. The views of Lake Mead were amazing.

This place is about 27 miles from Las Vegas. After visiting other parks across Utah, this was a nice place to enjoy, outside of the hustle and bustle of the city. The animals are wild and visit the park to eat grass. You can get some great pics of them grazing with Lake Mead in the background.

Stopped on the way to Hoover. Clean park, plenty of parking. Small trail. Great photo opportunities with view of water. Lucky to see one big horn sheep

Definitely a must-see while visiting Boulder City or Hoover Dam. Lots of Big horn sheep grazing casually on this large field next to a playground. I recommend not having little kids try and touch or play with these beasts cuz they look tough. Other than that, just a great thing to do that's totally free,

Lots of green space. Pretty view, at a distance, of Lake Mead. Easy terrain, well-maintained gravel path runs about 1/3 of a mile. Big horn sherp grazing on the grass.

My husband and I also make a stop in Boulder City whenever we visit LV but this was our 1st time stopping at this park. We were not sure what to expect but there were Big Horn Sheep everywhere. They were not bothered by everyone taking their pictures.
There were several coming down from the mountains, many relaxing in the shade and some grazing closer to the bottom of the park.
Just do yourself a favor and check out this park. You will be amazed and it is free.

We went around noon and there was a large group hanging out under the shade of a tree.

The sheep are wild animals. They hang out at the park most days during the spring, summer and early fall. Then they return to the hills for the winter and have their young. When the youngsters are old enough they return to the park.
I live a couple blocks from the park. The sheep wander around several neighborhoods to munch on various plants, shrubs, etc.
As I mentioned, they are wild animals. They are not contained or fenced in a area. It is a matter or luck to see these magnificent animals.
Please remember to enjoy them, take pictures and cause them no harm.
