Beautiful, authentic exhibits ranging from over 400 BC to the 21st century. It's a great guide to understanding the Caribbean in general, Dominican Republic in particular, and Santiago specifically.

Really enjoyed my visit to Centro León. Attentive front desk staff made the visit memorable. Also, had the opportunity to join a live concert the evening of June 28, 2024. Beautiful facility and a strong family-value institution.

A great tour! We were able to go in and physically see the cigars being made. All the staff were so nice and our tour guide was so knowledgeable about everything. We were able to smoke a cigar and they had [their brand of] coffee in the lounge. 10/10 would recommend!

This is a small but really well done museum. The collection includes some very nice local artifacts [pottery etc] and some excellent paintings and other art from Caribbean artists. An interesting thing for the Centro, they hold an art competition and display winners every year, which has produced some excellent art.
Our group had a tour guide who was excellent. There was a small but nice gift shop even though the cashier the day I was there was deliberately unhelpful.

Wonderful modern gallery with a beautiful garden on display from inside the building s big windows but also an amazing collection on display by Jorge Pineda on our visit - Jorge Pineda unfortunately had died just the day before our visit … RIP but the staff where like most Dominicans very attentive and friendly and engaged in representing the museum/gallery

A calming oasis in the busyness of Santiago.
A modern facility and on this day there were exhibits in two buildings. If you are in any way interested in some of the history of the beautiful country, it is worth a visit.
On the grounds is a cafeteria, an outdoor patio and many places to sit around the grounds and just enjoy the environment. Admission was about 25 pesos, if I remember correctly, and worth it. Also worthy of a trip if you just want a quiet place to talk or just think.

We took this tour as part of our cruise excursion. Beautiful museum. You will learn about the history of the Dominican people. Janet was our guide and she was very informative. I recommend you visit.

Beautiful place to go and learn about the culture and history of the Dominican Republic and arts.
The entrance is DR$150 per person about US$2.50 and the parking is free.
There are 4 main exhibition rooms, 3 permanents, and one that rotates with art from local artists. It takes about 2 hours to visit the place.
The museum’s store is good with many different items to buy, including a good selection of tobacco products from DR. The cafeteria offers great coffees and decent food items for lunch. The cafeteria is on the slow side so go there at the end of the visit. Dinner for two runs about US$20.
We went there on a Saturday afternoon and I was almost empty.

Hi Jane. The entry cost is 150 pesos per adult and 100 pesos per children. From Wednesday to Sunday. The entry is free on Tuesday.
