Stopped in Accra beach.Took 5hrs to check in.No beach towels ,no entertainment. Some staff not helpful ,turn away.Wait forever for change at bar.Hotel no atmosphere.Not recommend.The area was quiet nothing much there.The hotel was on the beach which was excellent. There was a board walk which ran a couple of kilometres.The pools were closed a couple of days. Barbados disappointed

relaxing beach time with lots of shopping and eating within walking distance. colorful kiosks for tropical clothing & local jewelry and handcrafts. brought some pizza for a dinner picnic and watched a beautiful sunset.

Beautiful beach with the Tiki Bar at one end offering sun loungers/umbrellas, food&drink and showers. In the middle are other loungers etc. Good choice of food and beach goods just behind the beach. Sand is white and fine and the sea is clear and calm. Perfect

The best beach with the best beach hut Chicken George.
It’s a must. You can enjoy drinks in the beautiful sunshine and swim in some of the clearest water. We’ve been coming here for over a decade w s always look forward to our next visit.

From the moment I walked up towards the loungers from the boardwalk (which was nice) I had a bad feeling…. The loungers are old, no cushions, dirty sand, also seaweed, smelly ditches behind loungers, rubbish, toilets awful, dodgy guys hanging in groups staring and laughing, the bar had caution tape mostly all the way around as falling apart, red flags, stalls shabby, when I said to the man who takes the money for the loungers what a disgusting beach he said “what do you want me to do about it? Clean it? …. Says it all.
We are staying in Oistin and thankgod! Beautiful beaches, lovely people …. Will never go near that place ever again…

I visited this beach on my visit to barbados. The sand is excellent and the people on the beach are helpful. The place is clean together with changing area.The price for 2 deckchairs and an umbrella is 30 dollars. There are several bars in close proximity serving good food. Number 11 ZR gets you there. Lifeguards are not the best and are not attentive, so be aware if you are a weak swimmer. Food is on sale from several shops closeby. A must of a beach.

White sand beach with plenty of parking. Loads of places to eat.
If you rent 2 loungers for 30BDS each you get 2 vouchers for 25 BDS each to spend at Tiki bar. Food good, lots of cocktails. Not too pricey.
Only downside it the water is pretty rocky and when we went there was quite a riptide.

Awesome beach. Easy to get loungers and plenty of shops and beach shacks for food. Can buy beach essentials too like flip flops and sun cream.

There was no sewage problem when we were there in September. We walked right along Rockley Beach from Hastings beach walking through the water and sand. No issues at all. They are the most beautiful white sandy beaches.

Hi, just wondering on the sewage issue on the South Coast of Barbados currently and any thoughts on Rockley beach in particular. I believe Worthing beach is closed to outlet the sewage.

Rockley Beach, also known as Accra Beach, is about a kilometer west of Worthing beach. It is Worthing Beach that is near the area where a sewage smell occasionally lingers due to a collapsed or plugged up sewage pipe that runs under the main road along the coast (it would be traffic chaos to dig up that road). Work to lessen the sewage problem is not yet a complete solution. Worthing beach is far enough south of the road to usually be free of the scent. By the way, Worthing Beach is still a great place to see sea turtles grazing at the bottom of 4-foot deep water (bring goggles).
As for Rockley Beach, I have never noticed any sign or smell of the sewage problem there. Rockley Beach continues to be its usual great self.

Hi there. We have just booked a vacation for the 21st May staying on the beach at Hastings. We just found out about the sewage crisis in the area. I have read many articles that were written in January, but would like an update as weather it is safe to swim in the water around Hastings and Rockley. Thanks for any information.

Went in mid-November 2017 and had no issue with water or smell. In fact, none of my Bajan friends told me about the issue until after I'd left...but I saw both locals and foreigners bathing in the water while we were there.

Definitely a sewage problem in certain areas lantern mall and intersection at Worthing
They are presently digging temporary wells for sewage drainage
Smells can be quite strong
Pedestrians are cautious not to be sprayed or walk in it

Many of the cruise ships do have vans to take you to the beaches. Rockley Beach is a great spot where many off the cruise ships are taken. It is about 20 or so minutes depending on traffic and time of day.

Is it hard to find the locations (beaches/attractions/restaurants) if you rent a car or would it be easier to take taxis?

Hi the Z'r's and local buses can take you pretty much anywhere you want to go. I love the Z ' r's. Rockley Beach is a area many of the buses pass and there are great spots to eat just across the road from this beach. It is a beautiful Island filled with kind, caring folks. Any can help you out. Also make sure to check out the Flea Market with many local artists set up. Great quality, prices and a lovely spot.

Hi there, The South Beach Hotel across the street , as well as a coffee shop at the Quayside shopping center. Also just across the street. Hope this helps.

Food is very reasonable priced depended where you go. We often eat at the spots across from Rockley Beach. The food is amazing, portions are huge and you will not be disappointed. I go on the side with the salad bar and everything is super fresh and very tasty. Friday nights many go to Oisten's and there are lots of vendors to chose from.
