Went to a showing of Empire Strikes Back. The cinema itself is beautiful and I'm so glad we booked a table. The seats are super comfy and the area is roomy. They were playing Star Wars music before the film which I thought was a great touch. We will 100% be back

We looked online at menus for food and drinks for the rex berkhamsted, menus to view online for these but when you get there, we were told that this must be for a different venue that is around the corner, the gatsby, which wasnt the case as actually googled the rex cinema in berkhamsted. So we continued with our visit anyway. Were then seated by people who were happy to be conversing, we said nothing, my companion and i then had a few words between ourselves and another guest decided to complain about us and had us removed. Expected more from the rex as a venue and was completely unsatisfied with the level of customer service from the venue as a whole. Would not recommend.

Great cinema, good atmosphere, good films. Very reasonable price. Meal at Gatsby beforehand was excellent too. Minor issue is parking

Had a very nice date night watching a film with a glass of wine and beer. Chairs comfy too, We had a bite to eat in the Gatsby next door, my date said her cocktail was delicious.

It was our first trip to the Rex - I've been to independent cinemas before, but nothing quite as magical as the Rex. From stepping in, you know that a lot of thought and passion goes into creating the perfect environment - the artwork on the walls and the shelf of film books. It's really relaxed. We grabbed a drink and headed in to our seats. The level of comfort is...HIGH. ALL the leg room, comfy seats and just a chill atmosphere. We were in the upstairs, and we could hear the more laid-back bar area downstairs, but it didn't distract us at all. We were in row D, and the only mild issue was that the seats weren't tiered so much so we could see the tops of the heads in front of us while we watched the film - I think it only affects that row, tbh! This is a film-lover's haven and I can't wait to go back. (Pic taken from row H - we changed seats when we saw we could be a little closer).

Going to The Rex Cinema is a wonderful experience. You step into a beautiful art deco setting - a place that is valued and looked after. It certainly makes a difference over other places. It was a popular choice for many people that evening!

Arrived with a volunteer and sat quietly in a corner was told to leave. Obviously I'm not good enough. Never ever again!

We went to see the ABBA night. We have never been to this place before. As we went in, it was like going back to how cinemas were in the 60's. Lovely. Nostalgic. Then, we sat at a cabaret-style table and watched a film. Brilliant!

A very different cinema experience that is so much more enjoyable. Friendly staff and the ability to sit in great comfort and have a drink whilst enjoying the film elevate this to a different level from the multi screen cinemas.
Being able to book a Royal Box make this a good venue to take anyone you wish to impress.

My daughter and I have tickets for 20th Feb. However she has broken her leg. Will we be able to get in earlier so she can rest on her way up to our seats in the top row?

I think it might be because there's only 1 person on the desk so they have to deal with face to face customers & telephone calls. I agree that it's very frustrating & I think we should all feed this back to them then hopefully things will improve!!

Maggie, we usually sit in the back row upstairs but at the ticket desk there is a plan of the whole floor so you can choose from that. I prefer upstairs but you can get a table with swivel chairs round it downstairs, which is nice if you're with friends and you can treat yourselves to a bottle of wine and a plate of cheeses and biscuits !

Back down on the High St., look on the opposite side of the road for Costa and the small Tesco. Between them is a lane leading to a car park. Today 4 hours cost £2.50 and there was plenty of space - this was a matinee.
