The hotel is well-located and clean, but the service was appalling. With 13 floors of guest rooms and the off-season for tourism in winter, there were plenty of vacant rooms. Yet, the reception assigned us Room 1207—a triangular-shaped room with a missing corner (the last one at the end of the corridor). The room had a sloped entrance, and the ceiling was pressed down by a beam. My husband, who is tall, hit his head several times while walking near the corners of the room. The window faced the edge of another pentagon-shaped building, resembling a sharp knife pointing into our room. Taiwanese people are well aware that this kind of feng shui is considered bad. Despite the abundance of available rooms, the hotel still gave us the worst layout. Let alone it's way smaller than 23sqm as per the room description on my booking.
I found the breakfast quite good, but my husband couldn't find anything he likes and chose to eat out during our stay. On his way back from breakfast this morning, he accidentally bumped into something, causing severe pain in his calf. When he limped back to the hotel, he asked for some icecube to help ease the pain, also requested an extra hour for checkout, the reception provided him icecube but insisted on charging an additional 200 dollars per hour for late check-out. We've been vacationing in Taiwan for two weeks and have experienced the warmth, care, and friendliness of the Taiwanese people everywhere we go, and this is the first time we’ve encountered such an inhumane, cold-blooded, and mean hotel—assigning us the worst room and demanding extra fees for late checkout, even for an injured guest.
