This hotel is safe because there is a guard outside. They do not speak English very well, but we are in Timor-Leste. The room was clean with shower and goog beds. The price is right. Stuff was not so friendly.
It is also very loud caused by music in the evening and it is also a one-hour hotel, so you know what you get.

We had planned to stay here for our four days in Dili, but checked out the next morning. Avoid this hotel:
1. It advertises rooms by the hour, so that tells you what kind of clientele come here.
2. Exceptionally rude and unhelpful staff, who speak little Portuguese or English. For example, we arrived at 7pm and asked where we could eat. Their answer in broken Portuguese: "All closed, eat tomorrow". We found out there was a nice noodle shop just two blocks away. When we (one a Brazilian) said we couldn't understand her broken Portuguese explanation about payment, she said, "No Tetum? I can explain in Tetum." This after being told we had arrived in the country only an hour earlier.
3. We were given a kettle for the room, but there were no cups or utensils for making tea or coffee.
4. The security guard helping us get a taxi cheated us with the money.
5. We did not feel safe.

Stayed a few nights at the Chong Ti Hotel, found everything to be in order. Rooms were airy and clean, nice bathroom, comfy bed. I was picked up at the airport by the hotel with no problems, even able to stop off on the way to get me a phone card. The staff were excellent. They helped take a bag to get a zip fixed, and everyday the rooms were made without asking. It's an affordable alternative to many of the more famous hotels in Dili and it's bang in the centre of town, near the bus office and near to a few supermarkets. Would definitely recommend.
