We paid $27 / night for W / E30. Yes, this is a fairground and there are no amenities, but we chose it for the price and the easy access to Detroit about 30 minutes away and Ann Arbor. So for us it definitely met our needs. Spacious grass site though it took some effort to level the RV. Would definitely stay here again!!!
Stayed at the campground during our visit to The Henry Ford in a 27 foot R.V. Very quiet, well maintained and reasonably priced. Staff was nice and helpful. Far enough off the freeway to not here it but close enough to make it an easy access.
My daughter's class came here for a trip! Huge space with a lot of buildings for activities. They do have enclosed bathrooms (women's had several stalls with lockable doors). They have an indoor dining hall and covered benches on the outside of it. They have animals such as horses, lambs, goats, a puppy, and chickens. Kinda disappointed there weren't more kinds, butz they were all still so cute, especially when the lambs "baaah"ed!! We were able to make our own make-and-take tomato plants, living necklace (baggie with a bean in cotton ball on a string) and take a potato half to plant at home. Cutest sound ever. All the staff and the high schoolers were nice, although I think the older white-haired lady in the red shirt and a visor or hat, was kind out of line the way she yelled at one of the high teens. I felt bad for him cuz it musta been embarrassing. What he did wasn't that serious, where pulling him to the side could've been more effective and professional. But all in all, very good tour. I loved that they added in games too. That was perfect for the kids to give their brains a learning break. …
No frills for sure, but for non-profit trying to make improvements I give an "A" for effort. Can't beat location for being things in metro area, or even sports in Ann Arbor at MU. Have added several full hook-ups.Cant beat the price, period. No 5 rating because I didn't get picnic table, only grass pads, they had lots of rain but no problem.
The best part about staying here, besides having full hookups and a safe place to stay, is that the Henry Ford Museum is only about 20 miles away. The lady that checked us in was very friendly and I enjoyed walking around the park. Walmart is an easy walk away and the campground is not far off the main highway. I did not ask about wifi, since I used my hotspot, but I think it is available. During the time we stayed here, it was very warm, so with the a/c going, we did not hear any noise at night. The only negative was the shower house. I knew it was outdated, but did not realize the water was cool and low pressure. My husband said the men’s showers had shared dressing areas, so not private. Not a problem if you can use the shower in your RV.
