A very welcoming B&B. We ate our evening meal with Madame, who speaks excellent English. Her food and conversation was first class. She recommended place to visit, we were on our way home and it completed a most enjoyable holiday. Very convenient for Calais. We hope to visit again.
We stayed at Villa Heloise en route for Mallorca. We had a dog who was made welcome and Marie Christine cooked us a wonderful four course dinner - which was delicious and very French! She was a warm and kind hostess with great English! The bed was comfortable and we had a really good stay.
I don't normally write reviews but I felt that I simply had to as our stay was faultless. Marie-Christine was incredibly thoughtful and had provided plenty of cuddly toys for our youngest son to play with and books for our eldest to read, even though we were only staying for one night. The house and garden are absolutely beautiful. We were made to feel very welcome and would definitely not hesitate to recommend Villa Heloise to anyone.
At approximately 5.00 pm, we arrived at Villa Heloise. This was at the end of a drive from Reims via Arras. We were greeted by our charming hostess Mari-Christine. After showing us to our rooms, she left us to relax in her beautiful garden, basking in the warm evening sunshine. Her Villa is truly delightful - full of interesting curios and antiques. Mari-Christine busied herself in the kitchen until 7.30 pm when she invited us to join her for aperitifs and hors d'oeuvres in her lovely lounge. Then, we enjoyed an absolutely wonderful four course dinner. I'l not tell you the contents of the menu - you'll have to visit Villa Heloise and find out for yourself!! A relaxing night's sleep followed. Then, in the morning after a typical French breakfast we left for the twenty minute drive to the ferry terminal at Calais. We had arrived as strangers and left our lovely hostess as friends. Having stayed at many chambres d'hotes throughout France, I can honestly say that Villa Heloise stands out as one of the very best. Definitely recommended!!
