Okay.My friend booked this 4 months ahead online. We had a double room(2 dbl beds), price was $72. per night inc tax. We thought this might be a pretty decent place as prices are much lower there than on the west coast, Anyway our reservation was for last week of May, one night. Our friendsended up not being able to go on this trip, so it was just my husband and I for aonestopover night- we arrived in Charlotte airport after 11 pm, and were driving to Myrtle beach in the morning. We arrived at about 11: 30 pm or so, after getting our rental car, driving in the dark, in an area which we ahd never been, and we were T-I-R-E-D. First off front staff was HORRIBLE. Even though the room was paid in advance, when we arrived to check in they "changed the rate" that weekend because it was Race Week, so charged us an additional $28. off the top!!We showed them our conformed reservation and all tehy said was, Sorry, our rates are always higher during race week! THEN, we walked down the hall to our room; at the end of this hall was another door(it was glass, an exit door I presume) which was broken and half of it was taped up. AND unlocked(scary) Ok, so we go to our room...(which was just two doors in from that taped-up, unlocked door) to a dingey and dark room and when I pulled back the bedspread ewwwww! food crumbs, dirty, etc.AGGGHHH! My husband sent to ask for another room ,they were booked they said. So we asked them to come change the sheets and clean.They changed the sheets but said the room had already been "cleaned". I was appalled! I told my husnad let's sleep in the car, he was soo tired, so suffice to say" I slept off and on, and stayed in my clothes ALL night half sitting up, because I couldn't relax for fear of bugs crawling in the night. Oh yeah , the tv didnt work, the bathroom was dirty . stained toilet shower very moldy,and the carpet was stained everywhere. I woke up hubby by 6 am, was still tired, I made him get up and we were outta there within minutes. Oh they informed us too that a continental breakfast would start in the "break room" at 7 am. UHHH NO THANKS!
